What Happened to the American Middle Class?

“The financial crisis is hitting middle-class America, as families are forced onto the streets. Some say it’s the end of the American dream but for others, this is a chance to redefine what’s important.

With around 120,000 people declared bankrupt each month, many of the squeezed middle-class see the American dream slipping away.

This Video depicts the struggles faced by the Middle Class after the economic crash of 2008. Conditions like this persist in much of the Rust Belt and other regions of the U.S. that have faced “de-industrialization,” closing of factories, and good jobs disappearing and being “shipped overseas” to labor-cheap markets.

These festering problems in America continue falling on the backs of the Middle Class and forgotten regions of America like the Rust Belt and parts of the Heartland and the South, as they have done over the last 40 years.

Yet, politicians in Washington continue to give huge tax cuts to Billionaires and Giant Corporations, as recently as the Tax Law of 2017, while ignoring these festering problems that are decimating the American Middle Class and forgotten regions of America.
